Module Title Introduction to Nursing Essay
With fictitious character to credible and relevant evidence, discuss your answer up to(p)ness as a pupil take in. Learning vector sum 3 will be show by your use of credible and relevant evidence. My accountability as a bookman foster is to be obligated to the tolerants, families and the general public to which I am warmth for. disciple entertains infixed adhere to the guidelines set break through by the nurse and midwifery council (NMC) which states As a nonrecreational, you be personally accountable for your actions and omissions in your perform and must always be able to justify your decisions. Accountability is integral to jobal practice. (NMC) Nurses betray judgements in a entire variety of circumstances, and use their professional knowledge, and skills to make a decision found on evidence for outflank(p) practice and the persons best interests. Nurses need to be able to justify the decisions they make. Student retains as well as overhear a duty of ca rgon which way they receive a juristic liability with regard to the long-suffering. They must ensure that they perform competently. They must too inform another when they ar unable to perform competently (RCN). This means that the task is necessary and delegation is in the patients best interest, the disciple nurse must fully under(a)stand the task and how it is to be carried out, they must also crap the skills and abilities to perform the task competently and also must accept the responsibility to perform the taskcompetently. The oxford dictionary 2008 defines accountability as The obligation of being answerable for ones birth judgements and actions to an appropriate person or authority recognized as having the chastise to demand information and explanation according to the terms of the NMC code of conduct. A registered practitioner is accountable for his/her own actions as a professional at all times, on or off duty , whether engaged in current practice or not. As a stu dent you atomic number 18 not yet accountable as you argon not a qualified nurse although a qualified nurse is accountable under the NMC code of conduct, however a student nurse is tranquil accountable for their own actions and behaviour and must act in a professional manner and uphold the profession of nursing, by behaving in a responsible manner and being thoughtful and respectful.A qualified nurse must act to the highest of standards, although as a student you are also still expected to act to the highest standard , as a student nurse you will be provided with pledge from senior staff and from your mentor because you are still learning and mistakes undersurface happen thats why aver will be provided to stick out you to be more confident and learn, as students learn new things everyday as do nurses because the nursing profession is a life-long learning experience. (Bethann Siviter 2013) Nurses and midwives hold a position of responsibility, as patients confide on them. T hey are professionally accountable to the NMC, as well as having a contractual accountability to their employer and are accountable in the righteousness for their actions. Nurses must act in the best interest of the patients in their do at all times. As a student nurse you are also accountable to the NHS and must report any inappropriate negociate that is being delivered to a patient if you think that it is not acceptable or appropriate to that particular patient, as the NMC 2008 states that You must inform someone in authority if you experience problems that pr final result you working in spite of appearance this recruit or other nationally agreed standard.Part 2Learning outcome 2With lengthiness to credible and relevant evidence, discuss the principles and importance of beloved express keeping. Learning outcome 3 will be demonstrated by your use of credible and relevant evidence. The importance of heartfelt discharge keeping is to ensure that you back up everything you do in practice within your nursing profession, as records are legal documents for patients, if anything had to go amiss(p) and was taken to a court of law if the treatment or fretfulness that was carried out had not been recorded the court of law would see it, that if it was not recorded it did not happen. The NMC 2008 states that You must ensure any entries you make in someones paper records are clearly and legibly signed, go out and timed so that you stomach provide any evidence that whitethorn be needed for a patient to show what treatment you have carried out towards that patient. It is a legal requirement for nurses to fill out records as soon as they perchance can after the treatment or care has been carried out on a patient, as the NMC states that You must bump off records as soon as possible after an event has occurred. nigh record keeping and documentation can be a lively means of recollection for nurses faced with litigation. Having detailed and substantial evidence is promising to be influential in such circumstances.Record keeping is an demand part of solid nursing practice. and is considered to be a basic nursing tool when pity for patients. It is important that nurses and also student nurses carry out good practice and adhere to the guidelines regarding record keeping, ensuring it is up to date and an spotless account of treatment, care planning and delivery which is appropriate to each patient. The inscribe of Professional Conduct (NMC,2002) states that good note-taking is a vital tool of conversation amid nurses. Wherever practicable should be written with the involvement of the patient and completed as soon as possible after an event has occurred. Having clear faithful records to refer back to enables the nurse having evidence to subsume to, this allows the nurse to have an accurate account of what happened. According to The breast feeding and tocology Council (2009) good record keeping is an integral part of practice and is e ssential to be able to provide safe and effective care to patients. They highlighted that good record keeping is highly important to improve communication between healthcare professionals. It athletic supporters to support the delivery and continuity of patient care, It supporters to demonstrate clinical judgements and decision making and identifying any possible risk for patients. Good record keeping is also very important when giving over a handover to nurses without havingrecords, the handover would be incomplete and the next team of nurses would not know what had been departure on with the patients, which could possibly affect the wellbeing of patients. Records that are not accurate or incomplete can highlight that poor care has been provided towards a patient. Neat and up to date accurate records indicate a caring and responsible nurse , good record keeping also allows for good communication between colleagues.Part 3Learning outcome 4The care of sight with frenzy is a signi ficant contemporary issue. A key standard of care for people with dementia in Scotland is that people are able to be as fissiparous as possible. (Scottish Government, 2011, p. 10). With reference to credible and relevant evidence, discuss ways in which the student nurse can support this standard. Learning outcome 3 will be demonstrated by your use of credible and relevant evidence. It is the responsibility of a student nurse to be aware of dementia and know approximately the illness and how it affects people in different ways. A student nurse can support this standard people are able to be as independent as possible by treating patients with dementia as individuals and allowing them choices as this assistances to promote dignity to a person and seeing them as a person and not looking at their illness. Student nurses should allow patients choices when carrying out personal hygiene and allowing them to choose their meals as this allows a patient to be able to remain independent and allows them to feel that they are being treated with dignity and respect , sometimes it might be touchy to allow a patient with dementia to remain fully independent as depending on the progression of their dementia will mean what lovable of support they will require, however it is important for a student nurse to promote independence at all times whenever possible to allow the patient to be able to achieve their potential. It is important for a student nurse to provide individualised care to patients with dementia as no two patients will ever be the same and will have different needs.Communication is a fundamental and key skill when caring for dementia patients and is important to try to engage and interact with dementiapatients so that they can be fully understood. Memory aids are a very good way to facilitate communication towards a invitee with dementia such as memory books can which can help them to remember about their past and families, snap cards and picture books are also a very good way to communicate with patients when allowing them to make choices as this helps to facilitate their communication if they have problems with their speech. The Alzheimers society (2013) states that by remaining involved and active, a person with dementia can economize their skills and independence for longer. Activities can also help people to express how they are feeling and relieve the symptoms of anxiety and depression and can increase well-disposed interaction and reduce isolation, as a person with dementia can often feel isolated and alone so it is important for them to begin some cognitive stimulation to allow them to feel happy within their environment. A student nurse can support patients with dementia by arranging various activities that are appropriate to clients with dementia as this would help them to remain independent and be able to realise potential in clients with dementia. The Scottish government (2010) has set standards of care so that people can re main as independent as possible to be able to live as normal a life as they possibly can without their illness affecting them in a way that they that they are not able to, as they have the same rights as everyone else and should be treated as an individual. It is very important for a student to support a person with dementia and keep to their daily routine to go on the patient becoming stressed or anxious as or so patients with dementia have a routine as this can help them to remember their daily tasks which helps them to be as independent as possible.ReferencesBethann Siviter The Student Nurse Handbook 3RD Edition P.193 Accountability (Accessed 10.11.13)Elizabeth A. A Multimodal Learning Strategy Essay
How do you necessitate best? Do you rely on compose instructions that verbotenline details or processes? Do you physic entirelyy test and try fewthing out to see how it works? Do you learn through observation, by seeing someone else demonstrate? Do you rely on diagrams and opthalmic aids to help you derive? If you answered mostly yes to the supra questions, chances are, you leave a multimodal encyclopedism taste perception. The majorityapproximately 60% of two population, group, or demographic fall into the category of multimodal learning.Multimodal learning takes from each of the quaternary sensory modalitiesthe VARK learning direction usaged for learning entropy. The VARK learning style was developed by New Zealand educator Neil Fleming (1987) as a simulation that assesses how different people have different learning preferences. VARK is an abbreviation for visual (V), aural (A), read/write (R), and kinesthetic (K)the cardinal modes of learning strategies that he be lieved categorized how people learned and gathered knowledge. A multimodal learning strategy is a learning preference that combines two or three out of the four basic learning preferences.Finding out what ones learning preference is promotes a more efficientness in learning, as it gears ones study habits towards their preferred method. Assessing the Method A VARK questionnaire is an effective method in assessing what a persons learning preference is. A survey of approximately 15 to 16 questions would be given up to a group of mixed background profiles, which would later be low-toned down into categories relating various social categories. The goal of the questionnaire or survey is to espouse up with a mean score which would be the standard for equivalence and action. This score will is used to initiate a joint lawsuit involving varying parties to determine strategies that would enhance learning for the groups (Murphy, Gray, Straja and Bogert, 2004). The VARK Four To better und erstand what multimodal learning strategies take from, it is important to discuss and differentiate between the four modes of learning strategies (Fleming, 1987). Visual learning styles highly prefer illustrated information everywhere presentations or explanations in word. People who are visual rely severely on drawings, maps, diagrams, symbols, and the like to gather information and learn.Aural or auditive learners prefer to gather information that is spoken or heard. These types of learners acquire information best by listening to lectures, talks, discussionseven from e-mails, chats, texts and phone calls. Those with the Read/ put out learning style process information best when it is written or displayed as text. The emphasis of this preference not only considers the input (which in this facial expression is reading), it also looks at the outfit, which is more often than not, also in written form. Kinesthetic learners gain knowledge and information through blueprint and expe rience, real or simulated. This experiential learning may involve simulations, demonstrations, case studies and applications. The discussion of each of the four modes of learning preferences gives an idea of how learners with multimodal learning strategies borrow and understand information. Multiple preferences take factors from each of the four learning styles and control them into an interesting formula that varies from user to user. As an example, you may have hefty visual and aural preferences, or read/write and kinesthetic. It is also practicable for a person to have three strong preferences, while some may also exhibit no particular inclination towards every single preference, and instead would have equal learning strategies in all four (Hong and Milgram, 2000). The multimodal learning style uses at least two types of strategies for learning. distant those with single preferences who deduce concepts by employ their strategic style, multimodal learners often opinion the ne ed to counter-check the facts they obtained from a single set of strategies with the other types of learning styles (Fleming and Bonwell, 2002). flake Study Myself as a Multimodal Learner I obtained the following haemorrhoid using the VARK questionnaire open on www. vark-learn. com (Fleming, 2006) V=5, A=1, R=9 and K=7. This shows that I have a multimodal learning preference, with strengths in both Read/Write and Kinesthetic areas. Top R and K oodles allow me to learn effectively using a combination of written reference and hands-on experience (Vierheller, 2005). My capacity to gather information would be greatly influenced by references, textbooks, lists, notes and readings. They would likewise be enhanced by using sensory observations, trial and error experiences, and hands-on approaches like computing, field trips and science laboratory work. Alternately, I should theoretically be able to produce valuable output by writing information and lists, and by doing a mock-up or by ph ysically recreating experiences and observations. To concur with my test results, I have personally found written information coupled with hands-on testing to be a most effective strategy. Also, while scoring only a 5 on the visual mode, I have always found visual study strategies to be effective in supplementing the information that I am able to collate using my supposed strong styles. The use of pictures, diagrams, charts, symbols and the like provide significant assistance in my personal learning preference. Users like myself, who have a three-dimensional multimodal learning preference have the fortunate advantage of easily adapting to various assessment methods and techniques required.ReferencesFleming, N. Decline in the Australian seed industry was in the first place due to natural disaster in the country which effected the production of seeds. During the early FY2000, the seeds industry of Australia was at its peak. Barriers to Change Individual and Organisational Barriers to Change Obama IYou must be the depart you want to see in the world Despite the potency positive step to the forecomes, exchange is often resisted at both the individual and the physical compositional rent (Mullins, 99) It is in human nature to resist change. We resist change. We choose to lionise our habits, rather the comfort of our habits (Dr. Claude Brodeur PhD, http//members. tripod. com/zenol/humanism. html).Change and the phenomenon of it, is fundamental to evolution and yet it implies some sort of bulwark. shield to change can name various forms and the designate of filtering out the piddle of resistance can often be difficult. Fear is one of the major(ip) forms of resista nce to change and I shall discuss this in depth at a later stage.Alas resistance to change can be categorised to the organisational level and the individual level. It is these two separate levels which I shall discuss further exploring what steps whitethorn be taken to overcome resistance at both the organisational and individual level. Bad resource allocation, occur when managers make bad decisions in allocating resources such as money, time, machinery and staff.Structural An organisation that follows the traditional hierarchical social organization tends to resist change much than that which has a more flat structure. poor intercourse There are two branches of communication, which are communication internally, inwardly the organisation between Employees and Management and externally between the organisation and suppliers and customers. Lack of or Bad LeadershipStrong leadinghip is required in order to direct the change management process in any organisation.Bad leaders who merely provide are not doing enough to inspire the employees to blemish ahead. People want to be shown the way. Lack of Preparation for New Roles Organisations whitethorn lack in their planning phase. Failing to prepare and define the raw roles that will need to be satisfied when change is implemented shall form rise to resistance. Cultural Issues The culture of a n organisation is a set of spontaneous rules. Management may have a set of protocols for employees to adhere to complete business processes. The way a task is actually carried out depends namely on the culture Individuals Resisting Change There are a number of barriers to change at the individual level that, need to be address to allow change to be implemented with the least amount of resistance. Traditional organizational systems spread over masses like children and e xpect them to act like adults.Truth is more important during periods of change and uncertainty than good news. Trust is earned by those who demonstrate consistent behaviour and clearly defined values. People who work are capable of doing much more than they are doing. The intrinsic rewards of a project are often more important than the material rewards and recognition. A clearly defined vision of the end result enables all the people to define the most efficient path for accomplishing the results. The more input people have into defining the changes that will affect their work, the more they will take ownership for the results. To change the individual, change the system.

Occupy Wall Street
Occupy Wall route Michelle W. November 4, 2012 Title of Paper Discuss the virtuous and economic implications involved in the apparent motion. The Occupy Wall Street dejection began September 17, 2011, in the Liberty Squ ar of Zuccotti Park located in New York City. The balk is against corporations that take advantage of the economic poor and sociable inequalities, corruption, greed, and the excessive power of corporations on government over the democratic process. The stem Occupy Wall Street has spread globally to over 1500 cities, they argon demonstrating against the destructive powers of major banks and multinational corporations. These powers live influenced the government to bail them out, indeed turn around and make multimillion dollar profits which has created an economic collapse. The protest is against the 1% group, which refers to banks, the mortgage industry, the insurance industry, which leaves the 99% that bent in the multimillion dollar profit groups we are the m ade of the everyday people, the little guy.Occupy Wall Street protestors viewed the dominant rich as those who exploited their way to the go by. OWS suggested that it was the taxpayers who had to bail the tremendous companies out after they caused the collapse of the economy (Haidt, 2012). Analyze each of the implications set above against the utilitarian, Kantian, and virtue ethics to determine which theory best applies to the movement. funding your position with examples and evidence. Utilitarian is the moral doctrine that we should always act to commence the greatest possible balance of good over bad for everyone bear on by our actions. The greatest happiness of all constitutes the standard that determines whether an action is right field or wrong. Our belief that we are individuals and society is the net result of our choices. For example, the perform of blowing up rocks to release underground natural gas would not be permitted near residential areas if energy complaints did not make extensive front contributions (Cohan, 2011). Determine who is responsible for income inequality and wealth distribution in the U. S. in your analysis, make sure to include if this is something that happened suddenly or if it built up over time.Explain you rationale. Suggest an equitable outcome from the movement that would be suppress for our capitalistic society. It has been said that the OWS movement is a big hypocrisy. That it is a large number of Americans that are rich by the worlds standards that we are not satisfied being paid what we value our work is expenditure on the global market. That now we are complainers, unable to care for ourselves, since we no longer have our parent to cry to, so now we are groveling to government and the successful businesses (Erich, 2012).Predict whether the movement will continue, fade away, or turn into something else. Provide a rationale with your response. Within the months since the movement began, they have lost their mome ntum and are drifting farther away. The movement has been determined off the tracks by law enforcement protestors are being arrested and evicted by the thousands, a very visible steep decline. This has left OWS without any operations in many cities and forced the thousands of protestors to defend themselves in courts, which in turn has kept many from returning to the streets.OWS does not have the leadership structure which makes it effortful to interact in conventional political organizing to support their legislators and Congress worry the Tea Party. Most of the activists are upset with politicians they do not overhear the electoral politics as the best direction for OWS, therefore complicating matters for the movements efforts even more (Haidt, 2012) .
